QuariX is a framework, based on a mixture of industry standard technologies, specially created to fulfill the need of rapid development and deployment of modern Web 2.0 applications. Applications based on QuariX can be as rich as modern desktop applications without their drawbacks or as thin as regular web based application.

November 3, 2006 - A new beta release of the QuariX framework is available and can be tested at http://www.QuariX.net.

The changes and new functionalities in this release are:

• Key Event Dispatcher - allows powerful key management and assignment to global or context based widgets in order to have rich application behavior beyond the standard HTML based keyboard handling model;
• Global keyboard shortcut (ALT-?) for a quick info of the available active keyboard shortcuts in context;
• Browse toolbar actions are automatically included into the browsers pop up menu together with their shortcut keys;
• Server side validation can now communicate either with a newly created window as with an existing one, allowing to reuse the windows, minimize the information exchange and drastically improve the user experience;
• Non intrusive info, warning and error message display either field or context related;
• Global keyboard shortcut (ALT+Q) for field related messages (info, warnings, and errors);
• Global keyboard shortcut (ALT+W) for cumulative window based field related messages (info, warnings, and errors) display;
• Improved mechanism that allows the separation of window / widgets creation from the data loading / updating process, allowing that way better user experiences through less flicker, smaller information exchange and better response times;
• New sorting related events in the browse widgets allowing for dynamic modifications of the window depending on the sorted browse columns. Useful for creating for instance, dynamic filter fields related to a browse;
• Server side functionality pushback, allows the server to have dynamic, flexible responses to a client side event. This way the server can send back as response to an event either an confirmation dialog or a full blown window or just some transparent non UI functionality;
• Generic filters for foreign keys depending on the selected sorting column;
• New column sizing methods for browse fields, now browse fields can be sized either in percentage or as characters, including the possibility to have auto expanded columns;
• Tab panels can have now tab accelerator keys;
• Global keyboard shortcut for tab panels (CTRL+ALT + Cursor Left / Cursor Right) ;
• Multilevel menu widgets and systems supporting global accelerator keys;
• Dynamic label loading system for situations where content is static yet internationalization is still desired;
• Pre-selected records in the browse widgets;
• Auto detection of browsers that have Java Script, Cookies or Secure ActiveX deactivated coupled with advices of how to activate them;
• JavaScript/Flash/XML based dynamic chart widget, supporting the creation of internationalized pie, bar or line charts;
